The Hollaender Interna-Rail® 179 – Obtuse Angle Tee (Schedule 80) is a fixed-angle tee fitting designed for ADA-compliant handrail systems where a horizontal rail must connect to a post at a specific obtuse angle. Unlike adjustable fittings, the 179 Tee is manufactured at a fixed angle, allowing installers to achieve precise, repeatable geometry while maintaining a continuous, code-compliant gripping surface.
This fitting is manufactured from anodized aluminum and is designed to fit 1-1/2" IPS Schedule 80 pipe. As part of the Interna-Rail® mechanical system, the 179 Tee assembles using tubular rivets and socket head cap screws and requires a Rivet Nut Tool for installation. Integrated set screws provide a rigid, maintenance-free joint suitable for long-term use in public, commercial, and institutional environments.
